Consulting Program

EDLC is asked more and more frequently to advise non-governmental organizations and others concerning strategies, resources, and networking in environmental human rights matters. EDLC has provided advice on matters arising in over two dozen countries around the world. These consultations sometimes later result in pro bono case placements with the law firms.

In addition, whenever EDLC places a case with a law firm, it suggests approaches for the firm to pursue. The firms have welcomed and followed such suggestions, and usually accept EDLC’s offer to remain involved in the case as a resource and as a liaison with the lawyers, the clients, and others working on the case. This role often involves advising on strategic issues and working in a variety of ways to bring additional resources to the case effort.

The staff at EDLC has been enormously supportive, providing access to resources, ideas, knowledge, and expertise. We treasure our partnership with EDLC and hope that it continues long beyond the current project.
